Mr. Ludwik Sobolewski

In 1989, he graduated from the Law and Administration Faculty at Jagiellonian University in Cracow and holds a Doctor of Law (PhD) title from Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). He is a legal advisor and a member of the Bar of Legal Advisors. From 2006 to 2010, Sobolewski served as the President of the Association of Polish Lawyers.

As the President and CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) from 2006 to 2013, he led WSE to become the leading stock exchange in Central and Eastern Europe. Under his leadership, WSE went public in 2010 through a successful IPO. Sobolewski played a pivotal role in attracting new companies for listing, increasing international memberships, and promoting exchange services and products. He actively contributed to the creation of the capital market infrastructure, including NewConnect, a market for start-ups and small to
medium-sized enterprises.

Sobolewski received the Order of Polonia Restituta twice for his significant contributions to developing the capital market in Poland. From 2013 to 2017, he served as the CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange and co-founded the Romanian alternative trading system AeRO, modeled after the Polish stock market NewConnect. Before WSE, Sobolewski spent several years as the Executive Vice-President of the Polish National Depository for Securities and Clearing House.
